Snapshot Saturday!

I love this new{isn} linky party by Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera!

Most of my pictures this week are oldies, but goodies. :) Here's a window into my life.

I thought I liked these gel sticker strips, but for some reason this set is not lasting. However, I love the red with the leopard hearts. :) The thing I do love about the stickers is that it gives me the freedom to do a little fancy nail art aka the hearts! :)

This beautiful Mac was my birthday/graduation present from my mom. (This picture was taken in a hotel, those curtains are NOT hanging in my home.) This bad boy is my favorite thing. I also found a textured case! I couldn't be happier with this computer.

Throw back pictures:

This was one of two student work displays I concocted while student teaching. The cloud says: "Our Class Garden: I can identify the parts of a plant." So these precious flowers are made from handprints, and then there are tiny labels to identify the parts of the plant. You can't really see the roots, but trust me, they were precious!

These little guys were probably my favorite thing I made this fall. I made one little zombie/skeleton man for each of my coworkers/bosses. Right after snapping this picture, I walked out of the room for two seconds and I came back to Molly licking their feet. ALL of my little cookies were ruined. So my boyfriend and I spent the evening snacking on their heads. HA Talk about creepy. :)

I love fall! These are the prettiest cupcakes I've ever made! I bought a frosting tube (is that what it's called...I'm not really sure...) and it led to these yummy looking (and tasting!) cupcakes.

This is the fireplace in our current apartment, unfortunately our new townhouse doesn't have one. :( This is the one and only thing I like about our apartment.

Last but not least, these are two of my favorite people. The guy creeping in the back is my boyfriend ;) and my best friend Alex is on the right. She was my (potluck) freshman year roommate and we've been best friends ever since!

Is anyone else ready for fall and pumpkin spiced lattes?! Thanks to Hobby Lobby setting up their Christmas section, I've even found myself humming "Joy to the World." :) Bring on the cooler weather! (And the students, I cannot wait to meet my first class!)

Have a great Saturday!

Drum Roll Please...

I have finally joined the TPT world as a seller! Well, I guess not technically as a seller, because it's a freebie!

My first product!

I love these apples from Ashley Hughes and the great fonts from Ms. Third Grade!
With these two great resources, I have created these Wish List Apples. There are several small apples, and each one contains one wish list item for the classroom. Don't see the items you want donated to your classroom? No problem! I'll make apples for you if you shoot me an email with the items you want.

So I have to admit that I'm a little terrified about this whole thing. But hey! It's a marathon, not a race...right? So now my first product is out on it's own in TPT world. Hopefully it's something you can use and LOVE...and leave feedback on? ;)
Happy Fourth of July!

Saturday Snapshots

I'm so excited to join this brand new linky party by Run! Miss Nelson's Got the Camera. I'm so excited to see pictures of everyone's life!

Hooray! I graduated! Actually, I graduated over a month ago. But I love this picture! The four years I've spent in Lubbock at Texas Tech have been amazing! I wouldn't change them for the world. I can't wait to get all of my students on the Tech bandwagon. :) Guns up y'all! This next picture is the beautiful (and yummy!) cake my boyfriend's mom ordered for me. It was so awesome...I seriously felt like I was on Ace of Cakes or something! ;)

This is my baby!!! I am so thankful to not have human children at this point in my life, but this sweet (looking) baby is my Molly. She is a mess! But she owns my heart. In this picture she's sitting between my knees in the floor board of the front seat. Her sister, Gigi, my boyfriend's dog, was in the back. Well, they LOVE to play and Molly couldn't handle that Gigi wouldn't play with her in the backseat....so she kept barking. And barking. After about 20 minutes of barking I pulled her up to sit next to me. Needless to say, it was a L O N G car ride.

This last picture is of my lunch box! I'm so excited. Not only do I think it's beyond fabulous, it was also CHEAP! Under $10 y'all! You can't beat that!

Happy Saturday!

OH MY WORD

I'm so proud of myself!

I got information about getting a custom blog design, which I still want. But with the recent budget discussions with the boyfriend, it looks like that will have to wait. (BOO!)

I couldn't handle how sad looking it was...so I made a new banner and added a background.

I used clip art and digital paper from Wizard of Boz, it's such a precious set and it is F-R-E-E! You can download it HERE!

Next goal: Finish my "I can..." TEKS statements and get them up on TPT...and create a signature...I'm sure there's some tutorial somewhere....

Goodnight sweet bloggers!

Five For Friday

Joining in on Five for Friday! This is my very first linky party and I really have no idea what I'm doing. But Fake it 'till you make it! Right? Right?!

1. I am so whiney. I mean, I'm always a little whiney, but right now I'm in full on three year old mode. I had my wisdom teeth out, and between all the medicine and the fact that my teeth were ripped out of my mouth, I am sick AND in pain. (Too much pain and too sick to work...but not enough to keep me from my computer...Sorry I'm not sorry.)

2. I am working on my very first TPT product! Seriously y'all, I haven't even upgraded to a seller account yet. But I desperately want to follow the footsteps of the amazing bloggers I've followed for a couple years now, so I've got to get started. :) I'm making "I can..." statements based off of the TEKS for my classroom. During student teaching we used the TAP rubric and this was one of my weakest points. I do think it's important that students understand my objectives for them. Sooooo....keep your eyes peeled for my first products!

3. So far these pain meds have caused me to shop A LOT on TPT. I bought (in my defense they were ALL on sale!):
4. I absolutely love all the cute teacher stools all over pinterest, and I have almost bought a stool several times now, they're about $17 at Target and Walmart. BUT I'm moving soon! And it seems silly to buy something big(ish) just before moving. And then I found out we don't get our first pay checks until the end of September (insert budget freak out HERE) and I knew I had to think of something else. Well I have two wooden chairs that I got from my mom that I redid a few years ago (think blue and lime green with precious bright floral fabric...I swear they're precious), and I'm going to use those! One to be my "teacher chair" and the other will probably be in our library. So hopefully I can start that this weekend and post pictures soon.

5. Clipboards!
Okay, so apparently every other teacher in Lubbock is decorating clip boards because suddenly Dollar Tree has none. And not just one Dollar Tree y'all, two of them! I'm going bananas! How am I suppose to decorate clipboards if someone else is buying them all. --End Rant Here-- I'm going to stay optimistic and go check again this weekend. :)

Have a fabulous weekend!

Chevron & Polka Dot Goodness

Let the shopping begin!

So a few days ago I finally ordered this beauty:

It's a chevron Filetastic from Mardel. I found this awesome product on Pinterest, which led me to this blog. :)

So I went to pick it up and, of course, I had to look around! I ended up getting some borders.
Polka dots for those long bulletin boards at the tops of all of my boards and chevron for the larger boards. I'll do the background of the bulletin boards bright colors so they *POP*.

And just as I thought it was time to go, I saw this precious border!

I'm going to use this for my homework display for "Homeworkopoly" I found the idea (of course!!) on Pinterest from this blog. :)

I can't wait to get these goodies in my room. I still have six weeks until I move back to Dallas. UGH!

It's finally here!

My classroom! It's unbelievable that this is my very own space! Third grade here I come! These are the before pictures, I am impatiently waiting to get back in there and work some magic. :)

So many bulletin boards!

This wall of windows is my favorite thing. :)
When I was in elementary school, we had so many windows,
so this is exactly what I was imagining when I dreamed about my room.

I'll post more pictures as I gather stuff. :)
